Primera Iglesia Bautista is a Hispanic Southern Baptist Church affiliated with the local Corpus Christi Baptist Association (CCBA), the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) and the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and has been since its beginning in the Summer of 1911. We hold that the Bible is the inspired, infallible and eternal Word of God whose tenets we trust, whose guidance we live by and whose promises we hope in. Salvation is by Grace Through Faith in the person of Jesus Christ and we trust in no other. We observe the Lord's Ordinances of Baptism for Believer only and the Lord's Supper to proclaim His vicarious death, His miraculous Resurrection, His Ascension into Heaven to be seated at the right hand of the Father until His Victorious Return for His Church at a time determined by the the Father.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
- We believe the Bible to be inspired, and the only infallible authoritative Word of God.
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.

At Primera Iglesia Bautista
we have a threefold purpose:
To worship and serve God and fulfill the
Great Commission as set forth by Jesus in
Matthew 28:19-20 and minister to the needs of members and others as our resources allow us to.
